IEP Consultation Services:

  • First 30 minute consultation: Free of charge

We speak over the phone or meet to discuss your expectations and your child. During this 30 minute consultation, we determine together if we are a good fit to work together to support your unique child. Contact us to schedule your free consultation.

  • We proceed working together for your child. We determine where we are in the special education process. Is there an active IEP? Are we at 3 year eligibility meeting?

  • Document reviewal: recent reports, IEP, report cards, written letters, progress reports

  • Goals and next steps: meet with family (and student at high school level)

My recommendations will be shared based on what goals are for child and how that compares to Special Education law. We then work together on a mutual plan.

  • Attend annual or emergency IEP meetings, either supporting family or fully serving as the 'voice' for the family depending on what your family needs for support.

  • We will plan to discuss how you see my role at the meeting prior so that I may serve each situation best. It's always best to keep relationships positive and professional.

Important questions and considerations:

  • Does your child’s IEP properly address all areas of need related to their disability?

  • Does your child require further testing? Who will do the testing?

  • Are your child's current goals and objectives specific and measurable?

  • Is your child making effective progress related to his/her full educational benefit?

  • In some cases we look at the environment. Is an alternate placement an alternative?

  • Is your child in the LRE, least restricted environment AND still making progress?

  • Does your child have a professional outside of school following their care medically, psychologically and or functionally? How does that information get communicated?
